these renditions of violin concertos by Axel Gade (Niels Gade's incredibly talanted son) and Rued Langgaard are really worth listening and cherishing.
anyway i do prefer the modern rendition of Langgaard lightning-quick violin concerto recorded by Christina Åstrand and Tampere PO under the baton of John Storgårds (former violinist).
it shows the present-day approach, and the piano playing of solo obbligato part in Langgaard concerto by Ville Hautala is really tremendous.
an awesome modern alternative, to say nothing about the concertos by Gade and Lange-Müller coupled with it.
