ResponderEliminarDear Odeon! Some time ago I took this offering from you. Days passed, and I didn't really find the time to listen to it. Eventually I did, and it was sort of a revelation. A truly splendid symphony, enthusiastically played! This is at par with the fine Huber symphonies you also keep in your collection. Huber is more carefree, perhaps, but S-Beuthen doesn't let his German roots drag him into the gloomy suburbs of a Beethoven 7, for example; or worse, to Rachmaninov's Russian sentimentality. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful music, totally new to me.
