Vaňhal, Brixi, Puschmann - Viola Concertos - Jan Pěruška

Vaňhal "(...) became one of the first musicians to earn a living entirely from composing without any appointment or patronage. Vaňhal was an organist and violinist and he is reported to play cello as a member of string quartet with Dittersdorf as well as with Haydn and Mozart, who performed his compositions. (...)"
Brixi "(...) Although he lived at the Baroque time, his music already heralds Classicism. His compositions feature new elements: radiant expression, fresh rhytmical feeling and well-thought structure, i.e. methods typical of Classicism music. (...)"
Puschmann "(...) From the artistic point of view, Puschmann's oeuvre is very balanced. His melodic invention is not too demanding or distintly unique, but it is always stylish and Puschmann was able to develop it within the structure of the movement in a continuous and logical way. (...)"
